이

Contents
이: This.
"이" works as both as a noun and an adjective. It can mean "this thing" or "this X" when put in front of something else. "This" means "close to me, the speaker" as opposed to "그" (that, close to the listener) or "저" (yon, distant from both speaker and listener.)
N + 이: Subject marker.
After a noun ending in a consonant, "이" means the subject marker. Use "가" after nouns that end in a consonant.
